The New York State Arborists at their January 26, 2025 Annual Conference recognized Margery Daughtrey with their 2025 Research and Education Award, presented in recognition of a ‘“researcher who is working on important research and education that would foster improvement in the arboricultural industry.” Margery has a long career (since 1978!) supporting the work of arborists and plant health through research, the LIHREC Plant Disease Diagnostic Lab, education programs and numerous publications. Among the more important plant diseases she’s worked on are dogwood anthracnose, boxwood blight, and beech leaf disease. We are delighted to see the NYSA Research and Education Award added to her long list!
